At this appointment, the asylum seeker will meet with an eligibility officer responsible for refugee status determination, where they will explain the reasons for leaving their country and why they cannot return. For the stateless status applicant, they must provide all information to determine the countries they may be connected to. They should also describe any aspects of their situation that may relate to refugee status. The interview takes place at the SP/CNRA office or any other designated location. After the interview, a copy of the interview report is given to the asylum seeker or the stateless status applicant.
